The Cool Crew
       By Jamonte

Once upon a time there once lived a pig and a wolf. They did everything and went everywhere together. They heard about a party at Devan Wells’ house, and they wanted to go. They had a lot of money saved up in the bank. So the wolf and the pig got in the car, and they went to the bank and got their money. After they got the money, they went to the Mall. When they got to the Mall, they were walking for an hour and a half looking for the Stag Shop. That’s when they saw Devan. They asked him, ‘Where is the Stag Shop’?” He said,’Yes, follow me.’

When they got there they were both very happy. At last the pig and the wolf could go to the party. They went home and took showers and ordered McDonald’s for a snack. When they went to the party it was so lame. The pig went in the car and got one of his CD’s. A crowd was full of boring people.

The pig and the wolf turned the party out with their new dance. One of Ciara’s managers was there. When he saw those moves, he knew Ciara would love it. After the party was over, he offered to buy the dance. The wolf said, ’For $99,000 dollars. "The next day later, they moved To New York. They also had got a record deal with Def Jam. They were going to be rich!

The Wolf's Side of the Story

I know ya'll heard the little pigs side, but ya'll need to know my side. Now, one day some new pigs moved into the neighborhood. Their names were Likerif, Dontrey, and Jashawn. By the way, my name is Emmanuel. I lived in this neighborhood for a good while, but then they came.

I remeber that day like it was yesterday. There I was walking down the street minding my own business. Suddenly, I saw Likeif, the first pig, who made his house out of sticks. I waited until alike around twelve noon and decided to send  him a house warming gift. I knocked on the door, and all of a sudden I felt a sneeze coming on. I tried to hold it in, but it came out. Before I knew it, his house fell. I offered to fix-up his house, but he ran to his brother Dontrey's (the second pig) house.

So, I went to Dontrey, who just finished building his stick house. But when I knocked on the door I felt another sneeze coming on. Now, you know what happened. I sneezed! Dontrey and Likeif both got scared and ran to their older brother's, Jashawn, house.

Jashawn was the biggest and baddest thing walking (at least that is what he thought). Whenever there is trouble Dontrey and Lakeit ran to him. So, me, being dumb, I followed them. I knocked on Jashawn's door, and the same thing happened. I sneezed. But Jashawn thought I was trying to harm him and his brothers. So, he tried to beat me up, and I ran away. Now I know you can't be nice to everybody, especially if you have a cold!!!

Dear Richard Wright,

My name is Tranesha, and I go to De Renne Middle School.  My eighth grade English teacher assigned us to write to our favorite author.  I chose to write to you because you are a phenomenal writer.  The book Black Boy   was an inspirational and tragic book.

In part one I liked how you used descriptive words:  “Richard was a bad child, but he was also very funny.”   The parts that I thought were kind of tragic or very drastic was when the father left, when his mother became very ill, and when his brother and him were split up to go live with there aunties and uncles.

Black Boy made me think about how things would be different if I was living during the Great Depression.  Also, it made me feel sympathetic for Richard.  I enjoyed many of your other books as well.  Keep writing books because they have a good impact on children.  Because of reading Black Boy , I have a different perspective of life.

Sincerely,

Tranesha

SECRETS IN THE SHADOWS

Secrets, I will not tell

Everybody wants to know, but I won’t tell

Closed eyes and closed mouth

Real deep, it is

Time ticks on the clock

Secrets, I will not tell.

I’m still not telling

Never lose the hope.

Truth, is what you are seeking

Hunting is what you doing

Even when I do not share.

Secrets in the shadows

Hunting again, I see

Answers you looking for

Do not tell

Only

We will

Share secrets.
